November 2024
Welcome to the first of what I hope will be monthly updates from the Gloucester City Supporters’ Trust.
£1,000,000 raised by the Trust
Since
we were formed in February 2001, we have raised more than £1m – a
terrific effort made possible by the hard work of our predecessors on
the Trust board and the generosity of many individual fans. Thanks to
everyone who has donated over the years. Who knows where the club would
be today without your efforts?
New members
We
have had three new members join us in the last month, bringing our
membership up to 110. If you’d like to join us, you can do so here.
Club shop – open for Xmas goodies
All
merchandise is now in stock and on sale. The shop is fully open and
stocked, including replica shirts. We’re open before and after the game
on matchdays and from 6-8pm every Thursday evening until Christmas.
Sponsor a goal
You
may have seen on the COF, this fundraiser has returned due to popular
demand. You know how it works: you pledge to pay to the Trust a certain
amount per goal, then twice a season you’re asked to settle up.
This
time round supporters have been more creative – individuals have
pledged £2 per Harry Pinchard goal, £5 per clean sheet and £2.50 per Ed
Williams goal & £5 per home attendance over 1,000.
If
you would like to join in, raising money for the Trust and having some
fun at the same time, email admin@gcafcsupporters.co.uk
Trauma bag
Following
a couple of recent emergency medical incidents involving a player and a
spectator at the Tiger Turf Stadium, The Trust has purchased a trauma
bag for use by anyone in the ground who needs it.
Costing
around £700, the bag holds a variety of medical supplies and equipment
to support people in need of emergency care before an ambulance arrives.
GCST membership cards and car stickers
Trust
membership cards are now available for collection in the club shop.
Remember to show it at the shop for a 10% on Trust stock (this does not
include replica shirts). Free car stickers for members are on their way!
Foundation kit
We
agreed to donate £500 towards the purchase of kit for coaches being
trained by the FA for the Gloucester City Foundation – a new venture
that sees the Trust and the club working together alongside local
partners and sponsors to run community projects with the simple aim of
improving the lives of people in Gloucester. More details here.
Re-elected chair
Finally,
on a personal note, I was honoured to be re-elected as chair a couple
of months ago. And I’m delighted to say Matt Phillips was elected vice
chair, with Trevor King re-elected as treasurer.
All
Trust board members are volunteers, giving up our time to help the
football club we love. If you would like to know how you can help,
please again contact us at admin@gcafcsupporters.co.uk
