Today we welcome Scunthorpe
United to the Tiger Turf Stadium for our final league game of this campaign.
Their season has been a lot better than ours, which sees them in the hunt for
promotion back to step one of non-league football. Hopefully one day they will
get back to the Football League, which is where they belong. We hope they have
a safe journey back home after the game.
County Cup Final
The final is being played
next Tuesday 23rd April at Meadow Park vs Bishops Cleeve. It is a
chance to end this dismal season on a high, so come along and cheer the team
once last time this season. There will a
limited-edition programme issued for the game so be sure to grab one.
End of Season Awards The
awards are to be presented to the players after the County Cup Final. The presentations
will take place in the clubhouse immediately after the game. It will be a
chance to thank the players and staff for their efforts this season.
Volunteering at the Stadium
As we are approaching the
end of the season thoughts turn to next seasons campaign, which ever league we
will be in. The club still needs volunteers to help around the ground, not
just on match day but throughout the week. Jobs include small maintenance work,
cleaning, gardening and much more. The club would not survive without its
willing and able volunteers.
Skittle s Evening
The Trust put on a
skittles evening recently to celebrate reaching more than 100 members. A good
time was had by all who attended, and our thanks go to Mike Cook and some of
the players for coming along and supporting us.
Trust Membership and Club
shares
As you may have read
elsewhere the Trust now owns more than 15% of the club shares. This is a major
milestone in the Trust's history and puts the supporters at the heart of the
club. It also shows our commitment to the club and its future.
We are extremely grateful
to those shareholders who donated their shares to the trust, so there has never
been a better time to join as all trust members become part owners of the club.
Please consider joining,
it is a way of raising money to help the club and a way of getting your voice
heard on club matters. Pick up a form from the club shop or clubhouse at a match, or join online here.
Old Programmes
The club shop carries a
good range of old programmes, dating back over a number of years, so if you
still do collect them and are missing any we may have it.
Or, if you have a
collection that you need to dispose of, we are happy to take them off your
hands. All monies raised goes towards helping the club.
Prices of old programmes –
50p each or three for a £1 [a deal can be done if you buy in bulk]
100 Club
The 100 Club is now up and running with the
monthly winner now receiving £120 in prize money. So, do not forget to sign up
as the more people who join the bigger the winnings are every month. You can sign
up here at gcafcsupporters.co.uk/100club. The proceeds of the 100 Club will go towards ground improvements.
