Mike Dunstan Memorial Match City Fans & Staff vs City Legends XI
UPDATED: 16 July 2024
A huge thank you to those who came to support the second edition of the Mike Dunstan Memorial Match and raise money for our youth development section at the TigerTurf Stadium yesterday. A closely fought match saw the Legends side run-out narrow but well-deserved 9-1 winners! It was a great occasion to honour the memory of Mike Dunstan. We'll update on the final amount raised in due course but it was a very worthwhile occasion.
A reminder that on Sunday 14 July (1pm kick-off) the TigerTurf Stadium is hosting the 2nd Edition of the Mike Dunstan OBE Memorial
Trophy match with a brave City Fans & Staff team taking on a City Legends XI. Join us to pay tribute to our much missed former Chairman, Mike Dunstan, who sadly passed
away in 2022. Entry is free but the Club are raising
money for our youth development section as they take on the ‘100,000 keepie-uppie
challenge’ on the same day. The Supporters’ Trust has supported this great cause with a £500 donation. The Trust Board firmly believe that investment in our youth will help our Club grow and bring future success and we encourage fans to donate in fond memory of Mike - the online link is below. The legends team will be managed by Kenny Blackburn with likely much-needed Physio help from Ade Tandy. The City Lenegends will include: Tom Webb, Lee Smith, Matt Rose, Neil Mustoe, Jamie Reid, Matt Sysum, Marc Richards, Alex Sykes, Mike Green, Jody Bevan, Gary Kemp, Lee Randall and Adie Harris.
Gloucester City youth are fundraising to fund two VEO cameras with the associated subscription costs, with the ambition of filming youth games next season and using video analysis to further professionalise the development programme. Any and all donations are gratefully received via the GoFundMe page.
