Gloucester City Supporters’ Trust has called for an urgent
meeting with the club’s owners’ representatives to seek reassurances about the
long term future of the club.
We would like to share our members’ concern about the
apparent lack of leadership structure at the club currently.
Over the last 22 years the Trust has been a major patron and
sponsor of the club, raising more than £1million. This deserves to be
recognised in any future relationship with the club.
Our main objective is to support the club in whatever way we
can, but we are also mindful about the negative effects caused by ongoing
instability, both on the health and well-being of our supporters and
volunteers, and on the reputation of the club.
We will keep our members up to date on any developments, in
the meantime we call on all fans to unite behind the team.
17 November 2023 –Trust Statement on Departure of Patrick
& Nicky Chambers
GCST thanks Patrick & Nicky Chambers for the time and
money they’ve put in to improving our football club during their tenure. While
their efforts have not been rewarded on the pitch, off the pitch we have
welcomed significant improvements we hope will continue under new owners.
In condemning the personal abuse levelled at Patrick and
Nicky, we make it clear that those individuals do not speak for us and that we
hope fans will work together to help the new owners build an inclusive,
sustainable and successful future for Gloucester City.
